There are plenty of staff who enjoy AI stuff (some of them are even over here, I believe), it’s just that it was apparently causing too much of a moderation problem to properly deal with.

Now with that said, yeah, some of the people over on Derpi are real dicks when it comes to AI art and AI content creators - calling them “pseudo artists” or “art thieves” and that AI art is “slop” - which, given some of these people’s own artistic contributions, brings to mind that old phrase about stones and glass houses.

This was a test image of Flurry Heart I did to see if Imagen knew what she looked like, it produced a really nice output I think. Doesn’t show her wings, though it could be argued they’re under the dress.

Out of curiosity, are you running these checkpoints through a web-based platform like civitai, or are you running them locally on your own machine.

Well, it is a very unusual image of Dash. Her chest fur and mane kind of look like feathers, plus having that extra splotch of color on her chest might throw people off. Plus the color for the surrounding scenery is kind of strange and gives it a bit of a surreal look, I don’t know if that’s what you were going for or not.

I know I use a very different model from yourself and everyone else, but one thing I’ve noticed that gets the Imagen generator to put wings on characters that should have them is to include prompts like “spread wings” or “wings folded in,” or some other prompt or detail that focuses on wings. Perhaps something similar may work with this checkpoint?

Night Glider has some of her hair sticking out of her helmet where it really shouldn’t be. I guess it could be argued there’s a slit for her mane in the back of her helmet that it’s sticking out from and so being blown along with her scarf, but that’s not a very realistic answer.

Google Imagen (or at least as used on NightCafe) unfortunately doesn’t allow for selective edits to select that errant hair for editing out. Would using a program like Gimp or Photoshop be a solution?

Hair sticking out of helmets also seems to be a frequent experience with some of these generations of mine, so would adjustment of negative prompts possibly help?

Go to the upload page, you’ll see the top box that instructs you to read the site rules and check the do-not-post list, same as it is on Derpibooru. Link to the site rules works but link to the DNP list does not.

I don’t know about Furbooru, never checked it out, but I will say that Ponybooru seems to be kind of languishing. There’s some activity on the forums, but in terms of participants and uploaders it seems small (probably partially due to the majority of uploads being done by an importer bot).

I think it will depend on whether or not people actually use the site. One of the things that unfortunately failed the Derpi-alts was a lack of user engagement, since aside from maybe a few political hot potato topics there wasn’t really anything to distinguish them from Derpi proper. Fortunately, since this site is focusing on a much larger and broader content that shouldn’t be a problem.

it seems that all the “-betes” or other character specific tags that implied “cute” aren’t implying either the character or “cute.” Just a heads up.

Since we’re still allowed to upload ai generated images on Derpibooru until the 14th, and those will stay until early January, will any future images be imported from Derpibooru? I ask because I still posted some both over there and here, and was wondering if what I already have uploaded would be overwritten by a future Admin import.

You don’t have to post the prompts but you can if you want to.

I disagree. Besides the fact that it would be odd and confusing (especially when Derpi will be keeping the prompter tag), I don’t consider myself an artist. I’m just a guy playing around with a program for fun.

It’s a text to image model similar to Bing and DALL-E. Rather than using Gemini, I’ve been making images via the NightCafe creator studio. This checkpoint is very good at making ponies and anthros, and has a pretty solid idea of what the majority of characters are supposed to look like.

There are some issues with secondary characters, however, but there is an odd quirk about it: if for, example, you ask for an image of Big Macintosh, it will give you a pony that looks nothing like Mac. However, if you ask for an image of Big Macintosh, and then describe what he looks like, it will give you an image that’s pretty on point.

The checkpoint is also kind of weak when it comes to non-pony characters or creatures, such as Diamond Dogs, Buffalo, Griffons, and Yaks, and basically requires a bit more prompt tweaking to get them to come out close to the MLP style. However, it does have a good handle on Zebras and Dragons, and is able to fairly properly output images of those in the MLP style.

One other issue it has with creating anthros and some ponies is that sometimes simply describing their race (ie unicorn, pegasus, etc) isn’t enough, and will have a tendency to produce unicorns without horns or pegasi without wings, so you sometimes have to add in an additional prompt with things such as “glowing horn” or “spread wings” or some other descriptor of unicorn or pegasi elements to get it to stick properly.
