Other than Ponyville apparently having been evacuated or everyone told to stay indoors, this is great, and its not like that can’t be spun into a large numbers of ideas. Even happened once canonically (Tirek). Also, I guess everyone probably sleeps in after the Summer Sun Celebration. So… once again, turning the very weaknesses of “creativity killing” ideas into a strength and source of inspiration.
Hadn’t noticed that… And that is harder to fanon meaningfully. Maybe Discord was asked to help defend Ponyville, shrank the distance so Canterlot’s garrison could effectively cover both, and then went off to do… something other than helping further. Although that may make Canterlot have shrunk…l
