Eyes are basically a biological camera.
If a pony-shaped robot were to have them (looking at you, Flower Poppen), the hair shouldn’t really be visible by the camera at that angle.
About the amazing peripheral vision granted by those cute enormous eyes, said robot would have 2, maybe you are right, but still a bit exagerated.
We don’t really see our eyelashes all the time, do we?
Not gonna complain about the depth of field or multicamera overlaying, that would mud too much an image meant to be cute. It’s just that the hair blocks a bit too much of the scene.

Like when I look directly where she is looking at her eyes in the center of the screen, the peripheral vision seems to make sense. But if I look up at the hair it doesn’t. But my eyes aren’t really as wide as hers so how could I know?

Yeah it should probably be a little higher up and to the right. It’s really hard for me to visualize what their FOV would look like.
It looks good and the concept is nice. My only issue with it would be that the mane hair obstructs too much of the vision. It would make sense if it was over the pupils, or anon-mare looking up, but it barely is even over the eyes.
