Year Of The Pony

(I couldn’t figure out if this subject fit General or Creative more, so I apologize if I chose wrong.)
Since it’s the year of the horse, I wanted to promote the idea of portraying characters as ponies who normally aren’t ponies, using the “year of the pony” tag. I just wanted a few more eyes on this since few people are going to browse my uploads, or read the description if they do, and I don’t want anyone to think this is “mine” and can’t contribute if they’re interested.

Interesting idea!
And since this is specifically the year of the Fire Horse, it feels like kirinifying various characters would also be appropriate…

I certainly wouldn’t complain if I saw someone as a Kirin. A fusion with Daybreaker would fit, too. And since Mistmane, pegasi contrails and angry Twilight exists, seeing a standard pony with fire for hair should be fine.

Hpw does Mistmane relate? Was/is her mane literally mist at least some of the time?
If so, this is relevant to my interests, because my fanon includes adult!Flurry Heart having a mane and tail made of clouds (that match her mood). Ooo! Ideeeea! And now I am imagining a Pegasus foal of hers or MUCH younger sibling (I have Shining becoming immortal, although NOT an Alicorn) perched on her mane via cloud-walking.

Sorry for noticing this so late.
I know the show didn’t concern itself with this particular concept (not that it saved the continuity and consistency of the things it did care about), but I’m pretty sure there is far more circumstantial evidence that supports transformative hair via unstructured magic than undermines it. Not just for constant and ephemeral instances, but why it does happen or doesn’t when it normally would happen.
Coincidentally, I have a pseudo-OC in a story who has cloud hair that reacts to strong emotions and can be walked on.
