Rock ’n Roll was very much a chill surfer dude. More importantly, much likes Sandbar, Rock ’n Roll was extremely loyal to his fellow Joes, and when a situation arose in the comics where most of the team was detained by the authorities he was crucial in getting them freed, much as Sandbar took the lead in freeing the other Student Six when they were detained by Neighsay.
Did Rock ’n Roll talk like a surfer? Because otherwise I am very curious about how it is a match.
Personally I would take Sandbar as a roll where “unflappable, but not necessarily quick” was a key requirement. Bomb disposal comes to mind. And yes, I know that the solution IRL is usually “detonate in a containment vessel” (but that may be more of a police thing than a military thing) or “detonate in place”… still takes calm.
