Rock farmers are crucial to the economy and even the survival of the Lunar Monarchy. They provide the sun crystals that nourish hydroponic plants. But Pinkie Pie never felt the call of the family business, despite her skill at it. Her calling was to bring joy and happiness to the masses, and she found herself at the perfect time to do so.

She began organizing small parties and raves on the lower decks of the stations, and her talent was noticed. The economic boom caused by the empire’s expansion into space provided an opportunity to change policy and significantly increase resources available to everyone. And while the elites felt this most, even ordinary ponies and others got their share thanks to Nightmare Moon. And Pinkie easily found a way to use these new resources to organize ever-larger parties.

And it was then that the two most important things in her lofe happened, after receiving her cutie mark of course. First, Pinkie was hired to organize a party in the palace of the Lunar Empress herself. And second, while she was overseeing the party and drank expensive wine without even realizing it, her psionic powers awakened. Unbeknownst to her, she’d drunk the wine laced with a couple of micrograms of Zro, which was marketed as a sign of luxury. This opened up her world and brought her to the immediate attention of Nightmare Moon.

Pinkie was immediately placed in a boring psionics training program that proved almost unnecessary. She had a tremendous talent for this power and an almost intuitive understanding. However, after this, Nightmare began testing the pink party pony, assigning her tasks ranging from organizing a lavish festival for miners to parties for nobles. And when Pinkie passed all the tests, she was appointed to the crucial post of Minister of Extravagance, responsible for spreading luxury and festivity throughout the Lunar Monarchy.

Some among the psi Cults even say she’s the chosen one of the Instrument of Desire. But Pinkie denies it, claiming that, unfortunately, she has no friends in the Shroud.

A bit of game mechanics, but Lunar Monarchy is a Monarchy with the Pleasure Seekers civic and regular use of the Edict: Distribute Luxury Goods. And Pinkie occupies the canonical position of Minister of this civic.
