I donât know why are we talking about this because every artist(like you said) have different art styles. We still have many good artist(and I can name more if given time) and this AI stuff is very different, not to mention we are very likely to have to edit things on our own if we want something specific.
@Background Pony #4F08
Donât worry, Zaj. Even if everyone decides to go all in on this machine learning âartâ, Iâll still always financially support you and other real artists
@Background Pony #4F08
That are still active?
Just look at the last 20 pages of âscore.gt:200 && NOT 3dâ and count how many artists donât use much simpler art-style than what AIs can already do⊠and no, I donât mean those are worse artsytle, calm down, just that a lot of people want something on this level and there isnât much offer nowadays to satisfy the demand.
I mean, honestly: who the fuck is still in the fandom, take commissions, and has the technical mastery to make stuff close to this AB pic, or >>2955144, >>2955143 or even >>2953320?
So yes, one hand.
That AIs can train from all content, past and present, and can learn specific stuff from relatively limited samples is a godsend for people whose interests arenât aligning with currently available artists . Same reason why non-pony AIs are used a lot to generate Classic-era-styled stuff.
bot amalgamation
Please tell me that was just a cheap, angry jab because otherwise you really need to learn how ML actually work unless you actually intend to sound like a Luddite.
beat an actual artist that gives a damn about what theyâre doing
On this we fully agree. AIs are however making scream in terror and anger all those who arenât.
EDIT: @Background Pony #4F08
Yep, Alcor, Yakolev or Llametsul come to mind when it come to high-quality recent stuff - still far from two handful. But even then, they donât have the same art-style than this AB pic or the others I linked, which are more in a Devinian-ish style. Iâm also not even sure they still take classic commissions now that everyone rely on Patreonâs monthly system.
No bot amalgamation is gonna beat an actual artist that gives a damn about what theyâre doing.
Not right now⊠But we donât know about the future.
Human brain is a âmachineâ and âAIâ itself, just chemical in nature, instead of mechanical.
Theoretically itâs not impossible for AI to become indistinguishable from humans in how they behave and what they do, so if they were to create arts in the future, there would be no difference, and they would care about what they do as well, not less than humans do.
Most artists donât make enough to live off of their art alone, and the ones that do, put in a huge amount of work for it. These are people who have put in thousands of hours practicing and refining their skill like people do for any other craft. Their time and dedication are the reason these AI images are even able to exist to begin with, because AI needs existing art to train off of.
@Background Pony #4F08
One hand? This is obviously false since it required multiple existing art sources to even learn how to gen this. No bot amalgamation is gonna beat an actual artist that gives a damn about what theyâre doing.

Machine learning is a hobby for some, and it doesnât really cost much to train an AI if you already have a gaming PC - and once trained it cost nothing to make pics.
Also the amount of artists that can output something close to this art-style / level of care can be counted on one hand, they donât always have commissions slot open, and unlike AIs you canât spend all day asking them for more drawing and get them instantly.
Itâs my understanding these technocoomers downloaded the purplesmart AI to run on their own PCs. Theyâre spending more time and money on these fucked-up AI images than it would cost to com artists to make better ones.

you come off as one of those ââCaN i PaY yOu In ExPoSuREââ type of assholes..
That opinion comes off as very entitled.
