Not as many renders of the group itself as you might think — the first relatively good-looking composition actually came together fairly quickly, but it definitely wasn’t free of flaws.
It’s always a bit of a dilemma: keep generating in hopes of getting an even better result, or take a promising but imperfect render and polish it by hand. I went with the second option this time.
That meant fixing hooves, tails, cutie marks, and plenty of other little details. Funny enough, today I actually spent more time painting over things manually in my editing software than doing inpainting.

Aww, this is beautiful! I believe this is the first render I have seen from you that features three ponies in it. And it is the Shy Trio, which makes it even better (or the council of shy ponies, I guess).
I can only imagine how many renders this took you to get right, since you had to make sure all three ponies were in the right positions (and had the correct cutie marks).
