Party Favor had a clear mission—to completely fill the room with exactly one hundred balloons for the upcoming celebration. He meticulously inflated them one by one, watching his surroundings slowly turn into a colorful sea of glossy latex. However, after running out of supplies late in the evening, he was still one balloon short of his ultimate goal.
Before the stallion could look for a spare, an unusual warmth spread across his flank. His cutie mark began to emit a bright, mystical glow that seemingly made the pink balloon animal emblazoned on it come to life. In a flash of festive magic, his body shifted and expanded, trading his ordinary pony form for a shiny plastic shell of identical shape. A long, squeaky sound rang throughout the room until his transformation was complete.
When the light finally faded, Party Favor’s gaze fell upon a mirror directly across the room. He was baffled by the strange blue unicorn staring back at him—its vinyl surface was so smooth and glossy that the balloons cast vibrant reflections across it, giving its legs a rainbow-like sheen. After a brief moment of confusion, the stallion suddenly realized that he was looking at himself.
A wide grin appeared on his face as it dawned on him that he had completed his task by becoming the hundredth balloon himself. Instead of heading home for the night, he happily nestled himself deep into the colorful pile, imagining the look on everypony’s face when they discovered him during tomorrow’s party.
