Season 4 did a decent job of keeping Twi relevant and centered. It was when that crappy castle showed up that she truly got sidelined.

Imho its not the wings itself, but the shift the show took. Twi became the outsider of her friend group, the one who can only join every other week and then less and less. She was sidelined. Also her character took a huge shift.

Same feeling when in Stargate SG1 Richard Dean Anderson stepped aside for Ben Browder. He was there for guest appearances, but it was never the same.
