I guess flight magic must be a lot weaker in this AU (1)?
Elsewise their are only... actually THREE ways that I can see any instance of Rainbow Dash using something with that little cargo capacity or other reason for existing than getting one from point A to point B.
(1) Or the "no flying (or at least a lower speed limit for wings than for wheels?)" zones are near ubiquitous).

The most prosaic would be if she was picking it up from/dropping it off at the shop(Scootaloo's day job?), or somehow getting it home in a "designated driver" role. Because Loyalty with blackbelt AND a surprising degree of stealth is perfectly capable of getting your keys away from you while you are smashed and confiscating your "donor-cycle"(1) and one of those two methods wouldn't even leave a bruise. Actually, her performances in the climax of "Magic Duel" and getting Flash Maggienus's shield from Garble indicate she's not bad as a 'con artist'. So she could claim she wanted to look at that "totally awesome keychain" or that "Your house key is bent. Here, let me bend it back straight so you can actually get into your house".
(1)Heard that term on "ER".

The second would be if it was a gift, probably from Rarity. Perhaps part of a matching set she got for the six/seven of them, or combined with the next option.

The most option is even more awesomely loyal than the first. I once saw a commercial with some REALLY intense wheelchair basketball being played. One of the players tipped over and just used their arms to right their chair then pulled themselves back into it. At the end of the game all but one of the players ||stand up and walk off the court... Maybe she likes to race with Scootaloo in a way that Scootaloo can actually hope to compete? They are both Olympic-level, IMHO, it is just that in one case you need to append "future para-" before "Olympic".||

That last one especially fit because the following was recently posted:

(Would be nice if you could spoiler images regardless of the viewer's filters...)

...Also, my usual tiny gripe about AI having a difficulty drawing tail-safe rear wheel assemblies on motorcycles applies.
