How exactly is it protecting anyone? Instead of letting people use the tags as they are designed for I literally had to unhide grimdark and other crap and this “protection” forces me to see the worst crap possible (improperly tagged gore/violence/other horrific stuff) because someone decided to make grimdark basically meaningless

It really depends how deepily you want to advocate for change. There will be higher chances for eyes there and discussion in the forums as well as a chance to interact with the mods. But you have to be emotionally prepared to handle counter arguments, because there are some really passionate users out there. I am confident the mods made their judgement with a lot of internal discussion and years of history to back up there decisions, with the goal always to safely preserve the feelings of the majority.

So, I will briefly quote a message I got from a Mod in regards to the first post in this Series of Spike’s Secret Snuggles.

So… it is evident even the the tag history of this set that it bothers people. And while I have my own opinions. I have to respect that if even 1 person is affected. Then it should be tagged as respect.

And yes, it would be nice to have a way to separate brutal from gentle with such tags… but reality would see it as… rape is rape. It doesn’t matter how gentle it is to the victim.

Would be an interesting forum discussion point 🤔 If it didn’t get to toxic..

There should be 2 types of filters:
Brutal rape
Rape

I’d say this image falls under the “Questionable consent” tag and not rape personally

I completely understand your viewpoint I do, I don’t tag this as rape on Inkbunny, however my feelings or the feelings of the few shouldn’t be the only ones at play

Best way to put it is like… it is akin to someone who might be drunk, could someone under the influence like that in the moment enjoy themselves? Sure, but such a thing would still be considered rape.

The tagging system is meant to help protect those who wouldn’t want to be reminded of such a thing in any fashion. So despite me agreeing that there is a lack of violence and I personally draw a line between nonconsentual and rape..

I would rather play it safe and let users decide to click a spoiler over forcing it upon them.

We have to take into account that it can be perceived as a nonconsentual encounter. Given the the nature that one partner is asleep.
