I don't think anybody really hates them, as it implies having some emotional investment. I think most people simply don't care about them and/or find them unappealing. I'm surprised there is someone that genuinely likes their look. "Dragons" with big eyes, ears, hair, eyebrows, weird muzzles, tiny wings... eugh.
