Celestia should allow Velvet and Nightlight to come along some of the time, although they would need to stay away from any time Twilight is being weaponized, and the more serious discussions… and maybe even remain out of sight most of the time if their manners are not super-polished.

Seeing what happened to discord with his petrification, I would assume that the magic of it would keep them together. However, it’s not out of the question that long term petrification could have some consequences. (Especially if they were left unmaintained.)
