By that logic the Cakes would find it difficult or impossible to stay in business? Seems like that would make Unicorns the ones logically in charge of basically everything, with others reduced to “disabled individuals with relatively niche advantages”.

That is why I not only go with touch-range telekinesis, but extend it out two inches to allow “fingers” (if of different and perhaps less dexterious nature than a Human’s physical fingers. I DO make it tiring to use too much to give a reason why Earth Ponies and Pegasi use their mouths as much as possible. Once heard that the ability to reverse this would expel dirt and perhaps bacteria, making eating with hooves much less of an infection vector.

I have a feeling that if Equestria was real, the pony society would work a whole of a lot differently than it is pictured in the show. Shocking, I know.

Like, literacy. You can’t grasp anything in a hoof, so unicorns (assuming magic does exist in some way) being the only ones being able to write, earth ponies and Pegasi would have little reason to be able to even read. Or the written language would employ hoof marks and teeth bites. Having no fingers, they’d probably count in base4 or base8, maybe base12. Money would probably be horseshoes you could wear on your neck instead of coins, and the system would likely be based on trust as well.
