Before the gloam, ’neath the starlit dome,
Motionless mare stands before our darkened home.
Memories press, in bright eyes confess,
Upfront they coalesce to postpone her distress.

When chaos reigned, and shadows grew,
The world was amiss, and the Sun was too.
From a night, a spark did gleam,
Yet some days a furnace, a nightmare of a dream.
But Age of Chaos was at an end,
There was no more force for day to mend.
The Sun stayed buried behind the rim,
Unchanging fate that turned our future grim.
Order was needed to offset age’s loss,
And magic too which is reality’s boss.
In Unicorns, all hope was cast—
A desperate bid, perhaps the last.
Across mountains high and forests deep,
Through deserts vast where changelings creep,
From distant lands, distinguished cantered far,
Guided by a stable star.
The finest minds, proud and true,
Each bore a gift, a power new.
With different spells and varied lore,
They met upon a mystic shore.
At first, they clashed, their forces wild,
Each spell unique, each heart beguiled.
But through the night, they learned to see,
They shared a goal, a unity.
With tempered words and gentle grace,
They found harmonious, sacred space.
Combining strengths, their powers grew,
A tapestry of spellwork, woven true.

Starswirl the Bearded wrote it all down,
In case they failed, not all hope would drown.
Young Unicorns could adopt their task,
Should they fail or fade too fast.
Progressive teacher he proved, for old and anew,
Unseen threads were spun among the patterns he drew.
The wisests of all grew stronger yet,
Upgrading their knowledge they made the bet.
They forged a bond, both strong and tight,
A spark in dark to birth the light.
With hearts aligned and spirits high,
They vowed to lift the morning sky.
The Unicorns, with magic bright,
Gathered ’neath the moon’s soft light.
From every corner, they did come,
To weave a spell, to raise the Sun.
With horns aglow, and hearts of might,
A beacon bright in darkest night,
Through darkened mist, their magic flared,
With dawn’s first light, cosmos repaired.
The Age of Chaos, now at end,
Through order’s might, the light ascends.
And in the sky, a new day is sworn,
By Unicorns’ Command, the world reborn.
But life depends on moving Sun;
Ritual’s end foretold unending night.
The greatest feat had not been enough;
More was needed for Orb’s continued path.
The group of mages already spent,
Some horns were cracked and some were bent.
For those still standing, a dark fate gleamed:
Sacrifice’s needed for each day to beam.
A call was made, spread far and wide,
For Unicorns to join the fight.
“The world cannot endure without your help,
Stand with us and join in our command!”

Sunrise Gloom was good and faithful,
In her heart, a fire, bright and graceful.
She saw not lies in desperate plea
Her youth succumbed to destiny
She left behind her home and kin,
With a tearful gaze, but strength within.
For the greater good, she made her stand,
To bring back light to darkened land.
Through forests dense and canyon scars,
She galloped far beneath the stars.
Across the rivers, mountains bleak,
Her resolve was strong, her trot did keep.
In villages small and cities under crystal roof,
She spread the word, she lent a hoof.
Instilling hope to those she met,
A promise made, a future set.
The journey long, the night so cold,
But in her heart, a passion bold,
Of power pure in virgin horn,
To raise the Sun, a new day born.
Applying for the arcane path, in duty was sworn,
Leaving all she loved, her roots were torn.
Sun-raiser in training, she heed the call,
To lift dark veil, for a day if not more.
With each learned spell, her levels grew,
Her heart was strong, her aim was true.
Through trials harsh and lessons stern,
She grasped the craft at every turn.
The weight of hope upon her lay,
In the blackest night, she found her way.
With every challenge, she stood tall,
A beacon bright, to save us all.
She learned the spells and curses dire,
Trusted by all, she dared not tire.
This duty cast by the world’s last breath—
Should she fail, all life meets death.

She cuts the nostalgia, for the present is taunting;
She has to perform, no matter how daunting.
The time is neigh, her ultimate test,
To assist in the impossible, she must give her best.
She spreads her legs and lights her horn,
For this duty she was sworn.
With a heart that’s brave and a gaze so grave,
She calls forth the Sun, the world to save.
“Rise, oh mighty sphere, banish night and fear,
Through the Unicorns’ Command, bring the daylight here.
For the good of all, I shall bear this toll,
A sacrifice made, in silence call.”
Her magic desists, sheer will persists,
Recurring pains, by revenant deceits.
With each dawn they weave, in tapestry,
A tale of loss, for eternity.

“O, Sun-raiser bold, with a heart of gold,
Your story untold, through the daylights rolled.
In the sky you etch, with a fiery sketch,
A world reborn, from the night’s long stretch.”
Yet the mare does weep, for the cost is steep,
In her soul’s deep keep, a grim curse she’ll reap.
For the Sun she raised, and the crowd that praised,
Know not of the void in eyes darkened and glazed.
“Sing, ponies, sing high, ’neath the morning sky,
Of the mare who could, make the heavens fly.
And forget her not, in your merry lot,
For your salvation sought, endless void she caught.”
In the market’s cheer, where the stands appear,
She wipes a tear, for the truth is clear.
With her magic spent, and her spirit bent,
She whispers faint, “For this, I was sent‽”
“Mark my words and tell them true—
Praise day anew and skies of blue.
And her who shooed away the night
By paying the price to gift you light.
Do remember well, this tale I tell,
Know the mare who fell, to ring the morning bell.
For the Sun she gave, and the world she saved,
In the heart of night, her soul engraved.”
